Research and Resources
We have access to many online services used for legal reference
and legal research purposes. We also utilise the Internet as a research
and information tool, and for immediate access to court opinions.
Case Management
Phillips, Malcolm, Morgan and Matthies utilises Time MattersTM
to support its litigation practice. This application permits the
automatic generation of target dates and filing deadlines for all
commercial disputes and pending suits. This system, which incorporates
alerts, greatly enhances the management capabilities of our litigation
practice.
Accounting
The firm uses PCLaw, Jr.TM to handle most of its accounting
functions. This application allows for automatic billing of time,
fees and disbursements. In addition, it provides clients' (trust)
accounting, disbursement accounting, cheque writing, conflict checking,
and management reports. PCLaw, Jr.TM also integrates
with Time MattersTM.
E-mail
Our e-mail system provides a direct desktop link between clients
and the attorneys handling their matters. Internally, Outlook Express
is used to facilitate communication between all users within the
organization. In addition, we accept SMTP e-mail directly from the
Internet, and also communicate with many clients via our Outlook
Express connection.
